Vanessa is a welcomed addition to the growing team at Hair Republic | Salon since May, 2013 as a Senior Stylist. She graduated from the Hair Styling Program at Algonquin College, Ottawa, with Honours. She has an overt passion for this industry and takes it upon herself to foster her knowledge and technique with multiple training courses and seminars. This includes, Goldwell colour classes and seminars, as well, yearly attending ABA hair shows in Toronto or Montreal. This helps her stay inspired and learn about innovative hair techniques and trends. Vanessa’s valuable skill set allows her to create women’s and men’s cut and styles, and variations with colour application, such as highlighting and all-over colouring. Vanessa has been born and raised in Ottawa and favours the benefits of a big city with a small town feel - and who has never noticed the abundant fall colours of this city? She was fortunate to travel in recent years to England and France where she was immersed in their remarkable cultures, being rather different from India, whose traditional dishes she prefers to indulge in. When she is not at the salon, Vanessa enjoys curling up with a great read, spending time with her husband, and baking - likely a career path if she were not a hair stylist. Vanessa believes the best role models are the people who surround her, “People contain knowledge and strength that would impress you, if only you stopped to observe or listen.”Vanessa grew up transforming her friends hair for dances and proms, and at times, cutting as well. Being able to interact with people from all walks of life keeps her returning to her chair every day, “I have learned so much from my clients, it amazes me.” The environment at Hair Republic | Salon allows her to interact with staff and clientele in a comfortable setting while maintaining top professional standards. She enjoys the monochromatic look of the salon, radiating an open, clean, and welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Vanessa believes her environmental impact is critical and states:
“Being a member of Green Circle Salons is another wonderful part of Hair Republic. I love that I am doing my part for the environment while still using leading quality products for hair!”
