Melissa joined Hair Republic as an Intermediate stylist in 2017, after spending two and a half years in Jasper, Alberta focusing on weddings and updos. Her love for the fall trees, and the growing art culture brought her back to her roots in Ottawa. Since entering the hair industry in 2004, she has taken a range of courses with Schwarzkopf, Unite, and incredible barbers such as Matty Conrad and Philip Elliot. Her expertise in barbering and love for creative updos has made Melissa a wonderful addition to the Hair Republic family.

 

On her off time, Melissa can be found hiking in the Gatineau Hills, taking fun road trips, reading, and generally trying to adult. Her main motivation in life is food and draws inspirations from both Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly. If Melissa hadn’t fallen in love with the hair industry, she would be a cryptozoologist or Indiana Jones.
